Samenvatting presentatie
Information is for the Telecommunications/ICT industry what oil is for the oil-industry. The information bought, created, transported, stored or sold may be customer property, supplier property, company asset or core commercial product, each with a different, but in all cases substantial information risk profile. In order to control these risks, Information Security is of utmost importance in today's competitive Telecommunications/ICT industry. Over the last years, this insight has dawned not only in the Telecommunications/ICT domain, but also in the business domains of our customers as well as with the various regulators. Therefore implementing Information Security policy nowadays is not just about getting the measures right, but also about being able to demonstrate their existence and effectiveness to external stakeholders. For a large corporation such as KPN, being able to do so in a cost effective manner is a challenge that requires time, thought and effort. KPN is in the middle of implementing a strategic program that will achieve such demonstrable Information Security.

Over de spreker
Johan Bakker is Chief Information Security Officer for Royal Dutch Telecom (KPN). Johan has a background of over 20 years in IT and Security in the areas of operations, development, project management, design, architecture, Security, R&D, consulting and government liaison.
